CRUISER BIKES

Born in the Great Depression, the original cruiser bicycles combined balloon tires, an upright seating posture, a single-speed drivetrain, and straightforward steel construction with expressive styling. Because they are very stable and easy to ride cruisers became the most popular bike in the US from the early 1930s through the 1950s and became the bike of choice for paperboys and bicycle couriers.

Today’s cruisers and beach cruisers build on the strengths of the original bikes but have been re-imagined and re-engineered to take advantage to modern materials and technologies.
